KÄTHE KOLLWITZ AT THE MILL

KÄTHE KOLLWITZ AT THE MILL

Phill says he thinks of women working in the timber mills of South Australia as displaying the same fortitude as Käthe Kollwitz. Käthe (1867-1945) was a German artist who worked with painting, printmaking and sculpture. Her most famous art cycles, including The Weavers and The Peasant War, depict the effects of poverty, hunger and war on the working class.
