In this final piece in the series Phill reflects on the fact that cycling is associated with sport and a healthy outdoor activity it, but ironically, the Tour de France has been marred by associations with performance enhancing drugs. The gardener is a code name given to the person, often a motorcyclist, who would shadow a team and carry the drugs as a race progressed.
