Dr Doug Jolly was a New Zealand doctor, originally from Central Otago, who joined the Republican Army Medical Service in Madrid in 1936. Jolly was responsible for innovations in battlefield medical care and was later repatriated to NZ when foreign nationals were withdraw in late 1938.
